Definition:
Ethnorelativism is the belief that cultures can only be understood and evaluated relative to their own values and contexts. It is the opposite of ethnocentrism, which involves judging other cultures through the lens of one’s own. Ethnorelativism recognises that no single culture holds a universal perspective, and it promotes empathy, open-mindedness, and cultural humility in interactions across cultural boundaries.
