Happy LGBTQ+ Pride Month!

By: DiversifyIT

In June of 1970, the first Pride March in NYC was held to honor the first anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, which was considered a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. Many various events, memorials, and celebrations are occurring in June, though Durham’s own pride march is held in September. You can find a list of local events at Duke Chronicle

Duke University Press has curated a list of some of their recent titles that focus on queer studies, trans studies, and LGBTQ+ histories

And as always, Duke’s Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is a great resource if you want to learn more about LGBTQ+ at Duke.
