Hi DiversifyIT!

Are you:

  • Wondering why you keep hearing about white supremacy?
  • Wondering if it’s okay to talk about it?
  • Wondering what you can do to make your workplace better for all?

Then join us for our second edition of DiversifyIT’s Book Club with the New York Times and USA Today bestseller Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor by Layla F. Saad.

Attendance at all five sessions is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Our first edition of the book club this summer was such a big success that we are offering it again. The second edition sessions will be Fridays from 3-4:30 p.m. as follows:

  • Oct. 1
  • Oct. 15
  • Oct. 29
  • Nov. 12
  • Dec. 3

Attendance at all five sessions is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Please Register to join the Book Club by Monday, Sept. 27.

Still not sure if this is for you? Check out the launch event for the Book Club in April 2021. It features a panel discussion with colleagues who will shared reflections on their varied racial identities and how those identities have shaped their relationships with white supremacy. Thanks! We look forward to having you.

More about the book……

In the book’s introduction, Saad beckons to us:

Welcome to the work. . . .I’m Layla, and for (at least!) the next twenty-eight days, I’m going to be guiding you on a journey to help you explore and unpack your relationship with white supremacy. This book is a one-of-a-kind personal antiracism tool structured to help people with white privilege understand and take ownership of their participation in the oppressive system of white supremacy. It is designed to help them take responsibility for dismantling the way that this system manifests, both within themselves and within their communities.
