We Are DiversifyIT at Duke
DiversifyIT Charter
DiversifyIT is a staff-led, volunteer organization at Duke University sponsored by the Office of Information Technology and Duke IT leadership. Up to nine staff are nominated and elected to serve on the steering committee. Duke IT Leadership representatives participate in the committee as sponsors and advisors.
DiversifyIT Vision
We work as a community to remove barriers so that every IT individual can show up fully, authentically, and safely at Duke. We believe this work is crucial to harnessing the enormous potential of diversified experiences and perspectives, both in delivering exceptional IT services to our customers and promoting the wellness of our community.
DiversifyIT Mission
DiversifyITâs mission is to foster a healthy understanding of the positive value of differences in the Duke IT community in order to advance inclusion and diversity for Duke. We create opportunities for the community to engage continually in examining, inquiring, and looking beneath the surface aspects of the organizations where we work. We facilitate wide-ranging discussions, gather and communicate the needs of the Duke IT community to Duke IT leadership, and provide mentoring, networking, and outreach initiatives.
